You want the truth????

So i was watching tv today, waiting for my clothes to dry, and what should appear gloriously on my screen but A Few Good Men. As my roomate and i sat and watched tom cruise and jack nicholson duke it out, my mind wandered, of course. lately, i have been really lame as far as being impacted with thoughts of God. that may have made no sense, but what i mean is that i have been sort of floating along and when i read, my constant prayer lately has been that i would be amazed with who God is. anyways, as tom cruise sets into a beautiful sales job on nicholson, i look back and think about what Jesus claimed about himself. John 14:6 has Jesus telling us that he is the way, the truth and the life. it just doesn't get any more ultimate than that. Jesus essentially says that he is it. there is nothing else. there is nothing that needs to be calculated beyond him and there is noone that is able to claim the place in the human scene quite like he can. he is not only unique- he is ultimate. that's incredible if we let it sink in. maybe my goal should not neccarily be to be blown away with who God is as if he needed to constantly take my breath away and so play into my understanding that i have some type of control over him. maybe i should take moments of clarity as they come and worship the man who is the truth. you want the truth??? You think your'e entitled to the truth??? You can't handle the truth!!! even so, it may be a constant stream of little things that bring me back to worship of the God-man.
